NS Design WAV 4 Violin Amberburst

Electric Violins NS Design WAV4 vs Fender FV3Both of these Electric Violins retail at closer to five hundred dollars than a thousand, which make them both great bargains compared to anything but the really cheap curlicue plastic things one sees for sale online which I've heard aren't really worth the decent strings and bow it would take to really play them. I was shopping for an Electric Violin and liked the glossy photo images of the Fender FV3 but was almost worried about its so low price point when compared to the other Brands out there, notably NS Design Electric Violins which apparently thought that it would take closer to 3 thousand dollars to build an acceptable Electric Violin. But then there came the advent of the NS Design WAV4, also manufactured in China along with the Fender FV3, and priced to take on the Fender FV3 in an even up war where perceived quality would decide the outcome of the sales battle.Of course, NS Design is a very reputable firm, relatively ancient in the somewhat new field of Electric Violins. Fender, on the other hand, perhaps the most glorious of the electric guitar makers, has had very little presence in the Electric Violin Market, accept for its kind of ugly FV1 which didn't exactly take the Violin World by storm. So I decided to start out by ordering the NS Design WAV4. My first impressions of the NS Design WAV4 have been covered in previous Reviews. But the highlights of those reviews are... what!? No bow! Granted, a new bow, without a good…

D Z Strad violin #412 full size 4/4 handmade

I was a little hesitant to buy a violin off amazon, let alone the internet, but for some reason I took a chance on this one. I had actually placed an order for a cheaper model but I was given a free upgrade to the 400 with the addition of a case and bow. The bow isn't too fantastic and the violin came with cheap strings which I am replacing. The violin itself has a few minor aesthetic issues and the chinrest is a bit loose, but for the most part I've been getting compliments from other players and from my local luthier about how nice it looks. I found the violin to have a good healthy sound and some decent volume. Overall I'd say it's a fairly decent violin, but probably not worth the original $2k asking price. Good thing you can get it on amazon for much less!

Cecilio 4/4 CVN-700 Highly Flamed 1-Piece Back Ebony Fitted Professional Solid Wood Violin

Ordered this violin after looking for an upgrade from my beginner's Cremona violin upon entering the 8th grade orchestra. Let me describe each different aspect of this violin and the things it came with...Violin - Very nice. It doesn't look as pretty in person as it did in the photos, but it still looks awesome.Tuning Pegs - They work fine, kinda hard to turn them but they're good enough and don't slip.Tailpiece - Wonderful, don't have any problems with it.Fine Tuners - Again, no problems.Bridge - I had to move the bridge a little bit downward because it must've moved while it was shipped to me, but that wasn't a problem. The violin even came with an extra bridge, which is fantastic.Strings - Didn't like these wound strings very much. There was an extra set of them too, which I put aside. Upgrade them to some strings that aren't cheap, like Evah Pirazzis or something.Chromatic Tuner/Metronome - Haven't used this very often, but it worked flawlessly the last few times I tried it.Bows - Both bows that come with the violin aren't good, but they aren't bad either. They are still nice though, especially the fact that I got an extra one.Rosin - Haven't used it, but it takes a lot of strength to break through the shiny finish of it to start using it.Case - Very cool case that also came with a sheet music book. The built-in hygrometer was awesome, too.Hopefully I didn't forget to mention anything... but all in all, getting all this for $500 is an amazing deal. I highly recommend this…

Cecilio CVN-700 4/4 Full Size Fully Set Up 1-Piece Back Violin Outfit

Let me start off this review by saying that I have a little more than 12 years experience playing the violin. Every other review on here that I've read seem to have been written by people with no experience with the violin or students just starting. I will put a disclaimer on this review in that I have never owned a good violin before, they have all been beginner violins or shoddy second hand violins (though I have experience with high quality violins), so, it is quite possible my perception of this violin is biased. My main concerns with this violin when purchasing it were the pegs, the tailpiece, the varnish, how it plays in third position, the bridge, and overall quality of workmanship in the violin itself. The pegs pictured seemed to be of very poor quality and almost worthless, I can say that my initial impression from the picture was quite wrong but I don't think it would be out of the question to upgrade them later on. They are not the best pegs I have ever seen or used but they are certainly passable. The tailpiece I would say more or less met my expectations (in that it is not the greatest but it does not seem to be an issue at all with the instrument). I intend on upgrading the tail piece soon but it is not dire. The varnish on the violin is pretty good, it exceeded my hopes for this instrument, but again, it is not quite to the level of other violins I have played on (but these were violins that cost thousands of dollars). The higher tones and third position play wonderfully…

Barcus-Berry Full Size 4/4 European Made Acoustic Electric Violin Outfit - Barcus-Berry Blue Color

Sounds good for a cheaply made violin. More bright though I would prefer a darker sound. I like how there is a volume knob on top of the violin. There's a Yamaha electric violin where the knob is on the bottom and is unreachable if you're in playing position. The mechanics work very well. It doesn't feed back. Not bad for the price. The case it comes with broke right away. It's absolutely a piece of junk as is the bow. I immediately changed the strings to Dominant strings which made it sound better. If you need an electric violin and don't have the money to get a good one, this violin gets the job done. Not the best, but what do you expect for the price?

Yamaha SV-130 Concert Select Silent Electric Candy Apple Red 4/4 Violin Outfit including a Johnson Artist Carbon Composite Bow & Yamaha Gray Gig Bag

Since there were no comments posted up i'll be the first. The SV-130 violin can be played with earphones or even with an amp.It has a very rich sound and i personally recomend it for intermediate violin players. It came perfectly packaged nicely, however my country had tax for musical instrument of 10% so to any of you who are thinking of purchasing this instrument please check your country's taxes. The strings arent that bad but the G string broke when I was tuning it. I would recomend a full set restring, and the pegs wouldnt hold too well. The bow seems pretty descent too. The only problematic part about this violin is the Gig Bag provided. PLEASE DO NOT GO FOR THE GIG BAG. Just buy the violin. The bag does not fit the violin properly and the violin has to be inverted in order to be inserted into the bag.The reason i rated it 4 stars and not 5 is mainly because of the bag and strings. Other than that, it is an awesome buy. Furthermore it's price is also reasonable. For sound quality as such, 700 dollars is a very low sum to pay.

Cremona SV-1340 Cello, Natural

The packaging was fine. I had to do a lot of research on this item and finally just took a chance. I was looking for a violin; the title of this item is "Cremona SV-1340 Cello, Natural," It is not a Cello! It seems to be a fine violin though. We took it to a local violin mechanic; he stated it would sell in a shop for around $900. He also stated the strings, pegs, bridge and sound post could be of better quality. The sound post had dislodged and was rolling around in the instrument. He said "the Chinese have the wood down, but they still have a tough time with metal. " Very low quality strings! The bridge contacts on the instrument are not quit flush with the violin surface; we'll probably replace that, the strings, as well as have some work done on the pegs. That being said, this is a good violin for the money.

Yamaha SV-130 Concert Select Silent Electric Candy Apple Red 4/4 Violin

I have several years studying violin. I bought this yamaha SV-130 and the sound is amazing. It has a beautiful design, good sound and is very versatile. I have another acoustic violin the Cremona 1260, it is an excellent violin. But when I compared the sound in D string between 2 violins, in the yamaha violin it sounds a little different. But in general this is a good instrument. I bought that I hope, a very good electrical violin. The case, bow and violin arrived in exclt conditions.

Cremona SV-1750 Maestro Special Edition Violin, Full-Size

I purchased this Cremona SV-1750 in 2004 for around $1100. It has now gone up in price by $600 and is worth every penny. It is wonderfully crafted with excellent tone woods.I had mine professionally set up with a hand carved bridge, sound post adjustment and Evah Pirazzi strings. It is a great playing instrument and projects a beautiful robust tone.

Cecilio CVN-600 4/4 (Full Size) Hand Oil Highly Flamed 1-Piece Back Violin Outfit

I bought this violin about 6 months ago from internet vendor. This is the worst violin I have ever tried. Nothing is true about this violin's description. First, wood smelled like they were just cut fresh, not aged at all. Varnish on wood is terrible for any stringed instrument. It has the worst furniture varnish consist of thick uneven coat of poorly applied polyurethane. Finger board is painted black and it is not even straight. Chin rest and peg are made out of plastic, not ebony. There were no ebony parts. They are either painted black or plastic. The bridge is not even maple. It is cut poorly and won't fit correctly. Pegs will slip and snap. Fine tuners will wobble too much. Then strings will break. If you want cheap violin, buy Suzuki or Klaus Mueller. At least they work like violin and sound like violin

Cremona SV-1260 Maestro First Violin, Full-Size

This tuner functions perfectly in environments with ambient noises that are loud and random. It's perfect for outdoor performance warmups.I've also used it in other ways. This particular band I'm teaching (brass, with some woodwind work) tunes extremely well by ear. During pre-show or pre-rehearsal warmups I put the section in an arc around me and randomly select a student to provide the reference pitch (Bb concert). I then attach the tuner to their instrument, show them how to read it and have them sweep across the arc 4 times while sounding the reference pitch. Since the student can see the tuner while sweeping across the arc, they can hold the pitch steady for the rest of the arc to hear. In addition, the students in the arc can play, if they wish, to match their pitch to the student sweeping the arc. Since the tuner in unaffected by all of this, the student sweeping the arc can still provide the correct tuning reference. Even the weakest, least experienced players are able to keep the pitch steady enough for reference tuning purposes. The piccolo players especially like it when I let the section leader "wear" it on her instrument during marching rehearsals and she can constantly monitor the tuning of the section. I highly recommend it to anyone working in the marching music arts.
